The Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival makes a welcome return to the Huguenot Monument on Saturday 3 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apart from the opportunity to taste cap classiques and champagnes from 19 different producers, and enjoy a variety of foods from stalls and local restaurants, festival-goers will also be treated to live music throughout both days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the featured musos is Shen Winberg, otherwise known as ShenFM, who has been wowing audiences both locally and internationally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Limpopo born and bred muso became absorbed in the indigenous sounds and rhythms of the province\u2019s Shangaan villages at an early age. He holds a degree in jazz from the University of Cape Town and, with a love for Afrohouse and pop music, his band, ShenFM plays a fusion of contemporary and traditional sounds, creating a global, commercial yet \u201cworld music\u201d feel to his compositions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winberg has played around the world, performed with Jeff Bridges in 2012 and Vusi Mahlasela in Sweden; opened for Lionel Richie in Dubai and played with Goldfish, Locnville and Freshlyground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the cool sounds of ShenFM, festivalgoers will also get to enjoy music from award-winning songstress Amy Jones and the dynamic brother duo Too Tone, who \u201cplay Black Coffee and Zakes Bantwini type house music\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nineteen bubbly producers will provide tastings, including cap classiques from, among others, Anthonij Rupert Wyne, Black Elephant Vintners and Bon Courage, as well as champagne from Taittinger and sparkling wine from Veuve Du Vernay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The dress code for the event is blue and white, with prizes awarded to the best dressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
