The popular Stellenbosch Street Soir\u00e9es have started the summer season this month, drawing visitors from far and near to celebrate the wineries of the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A favourite occasion for friends to catch-up over fine food and wine, beneath the oaks, and wine-lovers seeking to experience the heartland of South African wine in all its glory, the street soir\u00e9es have quickly become a not-to-be-missed affair. It offers enthusiasts the opportunity to taste wine and socialise in an elegant setting among the famous towering oaks throughout summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In keeping with tradition, there is sumptuous food from local vendors, including the renowned chef Bertus Basson\u2019s De Vrije burger, with smooth contemporary music as a backdrop. Held on Wednesdays, the first street soir\u00e9e took place on 9 November, and forthcoming ones are on 23 November, 7 December, 18 January, 1 and 15 February, and 1 and 15 March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each evening\u2019s activities run from 18:00 to 20:00, with 15 to 25 wineries participating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
