It\u2019s the item with which most people start their mornings, that something extra that gives you boost you need to get you going. And every year there are new coffee trends and ideas on how to enjoy your cuppa java. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although many still stick to their same orders, there are those who like to venture out and try something different, encouraging others to do the same. Thokozane Radebe, brand manager for coffee brands L\u2019OR and Douwe Egberts, referred to this simple curiosity as the start of a growing trend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCoffee is a drink that is loved all over the world and the chances of this changing are slim, but that doesn\u2019t mean the way in which coffee is enjoyed can\u2019t be explored,\u201d she pointed out. \u201cInstant coffee was once a trend while many were still brewing their favourite blend, and now a jar of instant coffee can probably be found in most homes. This is why coffee brands need to be able to identify new trends and monitor how fast they grow, giving their customers what they want from their favourite brand.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2023 coffee trends have already been earmarked, so Radebe highlighted the top five to watch: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a6 The size of your coffee:<\/b> Coffee used to come in whatever size cup was available; now we have options that range from small espresso shot-size cups to large take-away cups that will keep you alert the entire day. It seems the bigger the coffee, the happier the client. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a6 Cold is cool:<\/b> Cold coffee beverages have become very popular, and not only in summer. Iced latt\u00e9s, frappaccinos and others have become a favourite to order when sitting in a caf\u00e9, or simply as a takeaway option. The American National Coffee Association has found that cold coffee beverages have increased 23% since January last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a6 Is your coffee ethically sourced?<\/b> Consumers are becoming more interested in where their coffee comes from and if it is sustainable. Many brands have made sustainability an important pillar in their coffee processes; from farming to manufacturing \u2013 sustainability needs to be taken into account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a6 Easy-to-make coffee\u2019s comeback:<\/b> As coffee consumers have multiple cups of coffee daily and are pressed for time, the quicker it takes to make the coffee, the better. Instant coffee and capsule coffee are usually quick to make and, with the improved quality of at-home coffee, delicious and easy to enjoy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a6 Milk alternatives in serious demand:<\/b> Gone are the days of choosing between full fat and low-fat milk; now the options include oat, soy and nut milks, with new ones regularly entering the market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
