As one of its ongoing initiatives to assist the development of young learners, Shoprite is giving away gift card totalling R1 million to the class of 2023 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The retailer is giving away 20 gift cards, each to the value of R50 000, to schools across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Learners from Grade 1 to 12 can nominate a school and motivate why it deserves to win one of the 20 prizes on offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A draw will take place after Tuesday 28 February to announce the winning schools that will receive gift cards for either technology products and gadgets, sports equipment, stationery or groceries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Advancing early childhood development (ECD) is also a core part of the Shoprite Group\u2019s social responsibility efforts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The retailer believes equipping young children with foundational skills paves the way toward a lifetime of learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group\u2019s support of 107 ECD centres across South Africa \u2013 through skills training for practitioners and the provision of 381 590 nutritious meals \u2013 benefited 7 151 children during the last financial year and will be continued this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To further assist schools, Shoprite\u2019s Edu Card gives educational institutions an automatic discount of up to 2,5% off all essential goods, including stationery, cleaning products and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
