If music is the food of life, jazz is definitely the perfect beat to accompany an authentic hearty traditional cheese fondue held in the cosy unique atmosphere of a leading Stellenbosch wine estate. Delheim Estate, one of the region\u2019s most acclaimed wine farms set at the foot of the majestic Simonsberg, this year will again present its popular series of Jazz & Cheese Fondue events, which have become a highlight on the local wine and music calendars. Hosted in conjunction with the Cape Town Music Academy (CTMA), which selects an eclectic line-up of diverse local jazz talent to accompany the experience of Delheim\u2019s sumptuous cheese fondues, the events are to be held each Sunday Lunch from 2 July to 27 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n 2 July:<\/b> Darren English Quartet led by South African award-winning trumpeter Darren English, this band plays its own vibrant repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 9 July:<\/b> Zazi Muftic Quartet features Muftic, a Johannesburg-based musician with roots in Zagreb, Croatia. Her musical upbringing began as a Western classical violin player before becoming an engaging jazz vocalist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 16 July:<\/b> Muneeb Hermans Quartet trumpeter Herman was born in Cape Town, started his musical journey in the Cape minstrel fraternity and later went off to study Jazz Performance at the University of Cape Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 23 July:<\/b> The Nick Ford Quartet is led by the eponymous 19-year-old Cape Town electric and double bassist and composer\/arranger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 30 July:<\/b> Kalahari Connection, a jazz and world music outfit comprising vocalist Lungiswa Plaatjies, Lonwabo Mafani (keyboards), Bongani Sotshononda (marimba) and Stephen du Souz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 6 August:<\/b> Thembelihle Ndunjana Quartet Thembelihle Dunjana is a young pianist from Cape Town born in Gugulethu. She is also an improviser and teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 13 August:<\/b> Chante Phillip is an electric female drummer in the Western Cape who has over the past few years been mentored by legendary drummer Frank Paco. She has shared a stage with various internationally acclaimed musicians and slowing making her name in the Cape Town jazz circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 20 August:<\/b> Lady Felicity and the Trumpets is a multi-cultural Afro-soul jazz ensemble led by vocalist Felicity Ntshangana and backed by Dane Paris (drums), Georgia Jones (saxophone) Brathew van Schalkwyk (keyboards) and Chadleigh Gower (bass). This band brings energy and bursting joy through their South African songbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n 27 August:<\/b> Soisoi Gqeza Quartet showcases female vocalist Soisoi Gqeza (also known as Sultry Soi Soi), a Cape Town local who began her singing career as a backing vocalist for artists such as Ringo Madlingozi, Brenda Fassie, Lucky Dube and Winston Mankunku Ngozi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
