The Provincial Social Crime Prevention Office, together with Stellenbosch police and local stakeholders, conducted a Youth Day Celebration on 16 June at Kayamandi High School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the form of a careers expo, the theme of the event was \u201cCelebrating Diversity in our Youth\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt aimed to portray the police as a diverse organisation with career prospects,\u201d police spokesperson Captain Nathalie Martin said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe event was executed in three phases \u2013 a careers exhibition for unemployed youth, a dance showcase and musical concert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two young Western Cape police officers who excelled in their respective fields, sport and academics, motivated the youth to hold on to their dreams and work hard to achieve them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sergeant Jason Rhoda, local Stellenbosch social-crime prevention officer, stressed the importance of being goal-oriented, believing in themselves and having mentors in their lives to ensure accountability to become a success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
