Die Idasvallei-gemeenskapstaproetes (IGS), \u2019n organisasie sonder winsbejag wat beoog om natuurbewaring in die omgewing aan te moedig, is die begunstigde van tien nuwe bergfietse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die fietse is \u2019n skenking deur Pedal Power Association, Ben Bikes en die Wes-Kaapse regering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volgens Eon Hendrickse van die IGS is die doel van die skenking om veilige fietsry in Idasvallei aan te moedig, asook om fietsry as \u2019n sport in Idasvallei te bemark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMet die fietse kan ons meer jongmense motiveer om die natuur as ontspanningsgebiede te gebruik en ook buitemuurse opvoedkundige aktiwiteite n\u00e1 skool doen,\u201d voeg hy by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hy s\u00ea die plan is om uiteindelik \u2019n bergfietsryspan in Idasvallei te begin, aangesien Stellenbosch so te s\u00ea as die Mekka van bergfietsry beskou word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOns wil ook mobiliteit in Idasvallei verbeter deur meer mense en kinders aan te moedig om fiets te ry en dit te gebruik as vervoermiddel. Ons sien daarna uit dat Paul Roos, Fairtree en ander fietswinkels en liefhebbers deel word van hierdie projek,\u201d voeg hy by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
