High ratings for all three tiers of Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon-driven blend, are testament to the single-minded focus on this signature grape variety spanning over 20 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Top achievers included in Atkin\u2019s Wines of the Year, ranking with scores of 95\/100 are the flagship Bordeaux-style blend, Director\u2019s Reserve Red 2020, and Tokara TELOS 2018, the fourth vintage of the estate\u2019s pinnacle Cabernet Sauvignon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\u2019s no denying the quality of the 1 000 bottles of the latest release of TELOS,\u2019\u2019 is his verdict on this masterly crafted wine, which is the epitome of precision and stands proudly alongside the best in the world. His description of the Director\u2019s Reserve Red as \u201cself-assured\u2026 with appealing focus and restraint\u201d underlines his high regard for the wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tokara\u2019s flagship Director\u2019s Reserve White and the equally lauded Reserve Collection Cabernet Sauvignon, both from the 2020 vintage, as well as the ultra-elegant Blanc de Blancs Cap Classique 2016 are next up with a score of 94 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atkin describes the Director\u2019s Reserve White as a youthful, age-worthy pairing of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, while his notes on the Reserve Collection Cabernet Sauvignon depict the wine as a \u201csuperb Simonsberg Cabernet Sauvignon\u201d that is \u201cdense, grippy and made to age for a decade or more in bottle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
