Di\u00e9 ho\u00ebrskool se gemeenskapskomitee het onlangs besluit om die skool uit te daag om hand by te sit vir die Carmen Stevens-stigting. Di\u00e9 stigting is in 2011 deur die wynmaker Carmen Stevens begin en help daagliks om honger magies te voed en kospakkies aan minderbevoorregte gesinne te skenk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elke graad is uitgedaag om \u2019n spesifiek soort blikkie te skenk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leerders het alles van vis tot boontjies ingesamel, met een van die gr. 9-klasse wat 136 blikkies ge\u00efn het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDit is ongelooflik om te dink hoeveel blikkies ons, as \u2019n kleiner skool, kon insamel. Ek is seker indien ander skole in die dorp dieselfde doen, ons duisende blikkies kan insamel om ander te help, s\u00ea Robyn Bleach, voorsitter van die gemeenskapskomitee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die leerders het die blikkieskos verlede Woensdag amptelik aan Stevens en Celine da Camara van die stigting oorhandig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die blikkies, ter waarde van sowat R20 000, sal saam met ander kruideniersware in pakkies opgemaak word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stevens, die dryfveer agter Carmen Stevens Wines, het die leerders bedank vir hul skenking om diegene wat dit die nodigste het, te help. Stevens s\u00ea sy was aangenaam verras met net hoeveel blikkies die skool ingesamel het.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
