{"id":43973,"date":"2024-08-22T06:02:59","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T04:02:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/eikestadnuus\/nuwe-kabelspoor-nog-n-tree-nader-20240821-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-20T07:25:18","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T05:25:18","slug":"nuwe-kabelspoor-nog-n-tree-nader-20240821-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/eikestadnuus\/nuwe-kabelspoor-nog-n-tree-nader-20240821-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuwe kabelspoor nog \u2019n tree nader"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Die ontwikkelaars van die beplande \u201c<span>skytram<\/span>\u201d vir Franschhoek is een tree nader om goedkeuring vir die kabelkar te kry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In \u2019n item wat Woensdag (14 Augustus) aan die Stellenbosse munisipale raad voorgel\u00ea is, het Doug Jeffery Environmental Consultants aansoek gedoen om toestemming van die munisipaliteit te kry om voort te gaan met die nodige papierwerk vir die kabelkar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Franschhoek Cable Company se beplande kabelkar se basis-stasie sal op die Haute Cabri\u00e8re-wynplaas, in Lamprechtsweg, se terrein gele\u00eb wees en tot bo in die Mont Rachel-natuurreservaat strek waar die boonste stasie sal wees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die natuurreservaat is die eiendom van die Stellenbosch-munisipaliteit wat dus moes toestemming gee dat Doug Jeffery Environmental Consultants enigsins aansoek doen vir omgewingsmagtiging vir die projek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stuart Grobbelaar, \u2019n woordvoerder vir die munisipaliteit, het bevestig die versoek is goedgekeur. Dit beteken Doug Jeffery Environmental Consultants kan nou hul aansoek aan die nasionale departement van bosbou, visserye en omgewing rig vir verdere omgewingsmagtiging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie Franschhoek Skytram met sy diverse nuwe geriewe, poog om Franschhoek te posisioneer as die voorste bestemming vir kulin\u00eare, wyn- en avontuurtoerisme in Suid-Afrika\u201d, meen die ontwikkelaar. Die idee is ook dat die <span>skytram <\/span>maklike toegang tot die bergtop moontlik maak vir stappers en valskermsweeftuie met die doel om die bo-stasie met die Mont Rochelle-staproetes te verbind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teenstanders van die <span>skytram<\/span> voer onder meer aan die ontwikkeling sal druk op infrastruktuur plaas, verkeer in die dorp vererger en nie genoegsame sosio-ekonomiese voordele vir die gemeenskap in- hou nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daar is egter nog vele stappe vir die Franschhoek Cable Company voordat die kabels van die <span>skytram<\/span> gespan word. Die munisipaliteit sal eersdaags, wanneer die basiese assesseringsverslag voltooi is, weer kans kry om die verslag te hersien en kommentaar daarop te
