Stellenbosch Municipality has received another clean audit opinion from the Auditor General for the 2022-\u201923 financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement released last week, it said: \u201cGood governance is the cornerstone of a thriving community, and a clean audit is a testament to this commitment. It signifies more than just financial compliance; it\u2019s about transparency, accountability and trust at every level of governance.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to municipal spokesperson Stuart Grobbelaar the municipality has received 16 unqualified audit opinions. Seven of those have been clean audits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFour of those clean audits have been given in consecutive years, until 2022-\u201923,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Auditor General is currently busy with the 2023-\u201924 audit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the municipality a clean audit reflects rigorous scrutiny of processes and procedures, ensuring every cent is accounted for and allocated efficiently to support essential public services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis achievement means that the municipality produced quality financial statements free from material misstatements, delivered reliable performance reports that accurately measure progress, and complied with key legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
