This year\u2019s Boland College Annual Certificate and Diploma Ceremony marked a significant milestone in the institution\u2019s history, with several notable firsts that underscored its dedication to growth, inclusivity, and community engagement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Held at the Coetzenburg Centre in Stellenbosch on Thursday 29 August, the event was Boland College\u2019s first-ever single, large-scale graduation ceremony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The centre\u2019s expansive capacity allowed all graduates, staff, and guests under one roof for a unified celebration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adding a vibrant community touch, the ceremony featured performances by learners of local schools, including a warm welcome by the marimba band of Rhenish Primary School and a moving rendition of the national anthem by the choir of Rhenish Girls\u2019 High School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the first time, staff from all campuses, including the head office, were able to attend the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The staff procession was particularly notable, with participants proudly wearing their individual academic hoods, representing their respective qualifications and adding an extra layer of pride and distinction to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alan Knott-Craig was the guest speaker; his insightful and inspiring address left a lasting impression on all, offering valuable guidance to the graduates as they embark on their future endeavours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony also included a special moment of recognition for Sindi Lingela, the former College Council chairperson, who received a surprise award for her remarkable contributions during her tenure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her leadership throughout the Covid-19 pandemic was centered around student and staff well-being, and ensuring the continuation of the academic excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To ensure inclusivity, the event was live-streamed, allowing graduates who could not attend due to work commitments or remote locations to participate virtually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative ensured that everyone, regardless of circumstance, could share in this momentous occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
