Twee voormalige deelnemers en \u2019n internasionaal-bekroonde hobospeler is onder die beoordelaars van die 2024 Nasionale-jeugmusiekkompetisie (NJMK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die kompetisie, wat van Maandag 2 tot Saterdag 7 Desember by die Endler-saal in Stellenbosch plaasvind, vier vanjaar sy 40ste jaar van musiekuitnemendheid. Slegs 20 ontluikende klassieke musieksterre tussen die ouderdomme van 14 en 19 jaar sal deelneem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dit is die eerste keer dat die kompetisie in die Eikestad, onder die beskerming van die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) se musiekdepartement, gehou word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof. Mario Nell, voorsitter van US-musiekdepartement, sal die niestemdraende voorsitter van die beoordelaarspaneel wees. Hy was in 1991 die algehele wenner van die NJMK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die ander voormalige deelnemer is Samantha Durrant (2014). Sy is onlangs as die artistieke leier van die Odeion-strykkwartet en as \u2019n dosent aan die Universiteit van die Vrystaat aangestel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eldevina Materula, ook bekend as Kika Materula, is \u2019n gevierde Mosambiekse hobospeler met wye internasionale ervaring. Sy is in 2016 deur die president van Portugal tot offisier van die Prins Henry-orde beslaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die ander jurielede is emeritus prof. John Hinch, Franklin Lewis, emeritus prof. Ella Fourie, Bennie van Eeden en Babette Roosenschoon. Buiten Roosenschoon was al die ander beoordelaars in vorige jare by die NJMK betrokke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hulle sal individueel punte aan die 20 deelnemers toeken deur na meer as 100 werke tydens die kompetisie te luister. Die opkomende sterre ding mee om die gesogte NJMK-titel, die R180 000 prysgeld, goud-, silwer- en bronsmedaljes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die NJMK-wenner en finale ranglys word kumulatief oor vier rondes bepaal. Dit is die enigste kompetisie in Suid-Afrika waar die ses finaliste, begelei deur die Kaapstadse-filharmoniese orkes, sake uitspook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
