Stellenbosch is in South Africa, yet South Africans are being pushed aside like second-class citizens in their own country. It\u2019s not even subtle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This whole \u201cstudent town\u201d excuse is just a cover for greed. Let\u2019s be real \u2013 landlords and property developers don\u2019t care about education or the next generation. They care about who pays the most. And foreign students, backed by international funds, and parents of the \u201crich\u201d are a gold mine for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the locals? The people who actually keep Stellenbosch running \u2013 the workers, the employees, the everyday South Africans \u2013 are struggling to find a place to stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And what\u2019s worse, no-one is even questioning it. Everyone just shrugs and says, \u201cThat\u2019s just how it is.\u201d But why should that be? Why should we, or any South African, have to commute further, spend more money and deal with unnecessary hardship because Stellenbosch has turned into a playground for greed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s infuriating! What makes it worse is that it\u2019s all avoidable! There\u2019s no real reason South Africans should fight for scraps while money-hungry landlords roll the red carpet out for foreign tenants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s a system built on exclusion. And honestly, it\u2019s disgusting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
