Three riders of Team Fairtree DP World Cannondale made history at the weekend, finishing on top of the podium in the 2026 Sani2c NonSto<\/a>p mountain biking race in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday 30 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three-man team of Ziandro Jordaan, Luyanda Tobigunya and Ethan Michaels crossed the line in first place of the gruelling race, in a time of 11:47:46 \u2013 a remarkable feat as this was the Stellenbosch-based team’s first attempt at the non-stop format of the 250 km ride. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“To get a win was a massive bonus for us,” said team manager Chris Norton. “The team showed incredible tenacity and determination to take the win, despite getting lost at a stage and having to backtrack to get back on course.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test of endurance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sani2c NonStop sees MTB riders set off from the base of the Sani Pass to Scottburgh Beach, with the aim to finish the race within the 24-hour cut-off.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is designed for true adventurers who will enjoy the challenge of riding and navigating their way from the southern Drakensberg over sections of the Sani2c route to KZN’s east coast. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route traverses varied and contrasting terrain, over hills and through valleys with spectacular scenery. It is created by a family of passionate mountain bikers, who also actively compete in endurance events. The route tests and rewards riders who love the challenge of adventure and competition.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The non-stop event of the race is unique in its format, with riders competing in teams of two, three or four. They also have the option of being supported by a crew and one vehicle, or going the distance unsupported. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
