FRANSCHHOEK \u2013 \u2019n CapeNature-brandbestryder (42) is Saterdagoggend (17 Januarie) suksesvol uit die Stettynskloof-berggebied tussen Franschhoek en Du Toitskloof gered nadat sy die vorige nag beseer is terwyl sy aan \u2019n brandbestrydingsoptrede deelgeneem het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens \u2018n verklaring deur die Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR)<\/a> is reddingspanne laat Vrydagaand (15 Januarie) in kennis gestel dat die brandbestryder \u2019n beenbesering opgedoen het terwyl sy gehelp het om \u2018n brand in die afgele\u00eb berggebied te bestry. Weens die ruwe terrein en donker toestande was dit nie moontlik om haar dadelik te onttrek nie en sy moes die nag op die berg deurbring.
Die brandbestryder se kollega het egter by haar gebly en deur die nag oor haar gewaak om haar veiligheid te verseker totdat hulp met dagbreek ontplooi kon word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saterdagoggend is \u2019n veel-agentskap-reddingsoptrede van stapel gestuur met \u2018n klein reddingspan van die Wes-Kaapse regering se departement van gesondheid en welstand se reddingshelikopter, wat in samewerking met die departement van waterwese en bousbou, CapeNature en die Kaapse Wynland-distriksmunisipaliteit se branddienste ontplooi is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noukeurige beplanning deur gespesialiseerde WSAR-spanne het reeds Vrydagaand \u2019n doeltreffende kommunikasieraamwerk daargestel, wat dit moontlik gemaak het vir die reddingsoptrede om ondanks die uitdagende en afgele\u00eb ligging veilig voort te gaan.Reddingspersoneel het die steil en ruwe terrein versigtig aangedurf om die beseerde brandbestryder te bereik. \u2019n Paramedikus het noodsaaklike behandeling op die toneel toegepas, waarna die beseerde brandbestryder per helikopter na \u2019n nabygele\u00eb landingsone vervoer is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van daar is sy in die sorg van ambulansdienste geplaas vir verdere vervoer na \u2019n hospitaal.Die reddingsoptrede is kort voor 11:00 Saterdag suksesvol afgehandel.Die koerant het na die KWDM vir kommentaar uitgereik, wat bygevoeg sal word sodra dit ontvang is.

Franschhoek-brand<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Brandbestrydingspanne van die KWDM, saam met verskeie ander vennote, maak steeds goeie vordering met die veldbrand by La Motte naby Franschhoek wat Saterdag (17 Januarie) uitgebreek het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens \u2018n verklaring deur die KWDM is twee brandlyne steeds aktief. Ses bemande brandbestrydingsvoertuie, ondersteun deur \u2019n grondspan van CapeNature, het deur die nag aan die aktiewe brandlyne gewerk. Koeler nagtemperature het gehelp om brandbestrydingspogings te ondersteun en die verspreiding van die vuur te beperk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geen skade aan eiendom of ander verliese is tot dusver aangemeld nie en daar geen beserings is aangemeld nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vars brandbestrydingspanne is Maandagoggend (19 Januarie) ontplooi om die optrede voort te sit en die brand verder onder beheer te bring.

Intussen is die KWDM ook Sondag (18 Januarie) na \u2019n afsonderlike veldbrand in Michell\u2019s-pas ontplooi.
