As the festive season starts, the Western Cape Department of Infrastructure will continue its work on the road network. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contractors working on road construction projects are taking a break from Friday 12 December to Monday 12 January 2026, so certain road closures will take place during this period.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This includes the Franschhoek Pass (R45\/ MR191), which is open with a section where one lane of traffic can proceed when it is safe to do so; a stop-and-go is in place on the Klapmuts\/ Simondium Road (MR205); as well as a stop-and-go in place on the Hemel-en-Aarde Road (MR269). \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
