Volgens Kurt Maske, ‘n plaaslike paramedikus, het die voorval omstreeks 17:00 in Skoolstraat gebeur. Maske s\u00ea hy het op die toneel verneem dat soortgelyke aanvalle op hierdie afleweringsvragmotor gereeld plaasvind, veral Dinsdae en Donderdae. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Hierdie ouens steel van die vragmotor af. So, Donderdag het drie mans, soos wat ek verstaan, goedere van die vragmotor af probeer steel. Die bestuurder het toe probeer ingryp. Hulle het hom toe in sy arm gesteek,” s\u00ea Maske.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ek is ontbied om mediese hulp aan hom te verleen, waarna hy met ‘n private voertuig hospitaal toe geneem is. Volgens omstanders op die toneel is die drie mans in Groendal daarvoor bekend dat hulle mense steek.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sers. Muriel Sitzer, ‘n polisie woordvoerder, het by navraag ges\u00ea: “Daar is een saak geopen, maar dit het Dinsdag (21 Oktober) plaasgevind. Daar is geen rekord dat daar Donderdag ‘n klagte ingedien is nie.
