{"id":268411,"date":"2025-10-30T04:24:21","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T02:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/eikestadnuus\/?p=268411"},"modified":"2025-10-30T04:24:24","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T02:24:24","slug":"stellenbosch-rotarians-support-victims-of-domestic-violence-through-donation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/eikestadnuus\/stellenbosch-rotarians-support-victims-of-domestic-violence-through-donation\/","title":{"rendered":"Stellenbosch Rotarians support victims of domestic violence through donation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/rotarystellenbosch.org.za\/\">Rotary Club of Stellenbosch<\/a> has announced its recent collaboration with the Thuthuzela Care Centre in Ida&#8217;s Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club and its members have made a significant contribution to support the centre&#8217;s vital work in providing shelter, counselling and empowerment programmes for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Thuthuzela Care Centre provides a safe haven for those affected by domestic violence and offers a range of services including counselling and advocacy.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ALSO READ:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/eikestadnuus\/nuwe-sorgsentrum-amptelik-oop-20240417-2\/\">Nuwe sorgsentrum ampetlik oop<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The local Rotary club recently donated new towels, as well as a variety of pajamas and underwear for victims. These essential items will help provide comfort and dignity to the women and children staying at the centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;As Rotarians, we are committed to making a positive impact in our community,&#8221; said Rotarian Jackie Hunter. &#8220;We are honoured to support the Thuthuzela Care Centre in Ida&#8217;s Valley and contribute to the important work they do in combating gender-based violence.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rotary Club of Stellenbosch&#8217;s involvement with the local Thuthuzela Care Centre is part of its ongoing efforts to address social issues and promote community development in the Stellenbosch region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For more information on the Rotary club&#8217;s work and its projects, send an email to pr@rotarystellenbosch.org.za.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rotary Club Stellenbosch collaborates with Thuthuzela Care Centre in Ida&#8217;s Valley, supporting gender-based violence survivors.
