‘RASSITIESE’ UITLATINGS <\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Kannemeyer bespreek onder meer ‘n spesifieke kandidaat wat hulle glo reg is vir die betrokke pos, asook ‘n tweede keuse wat na bewering ‘n interne aanstelling sal wees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die kommentaar wat egter vele mense erg onthuts gelaat en tot oproepe vir Kannemeyer se onmiddellike afdanking gelei het, is sy kommer dat daar “always whites” aan die stuur van veral tegniese departemente is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hy skep verder ‘n scenario waar die lewe “moeilik gemaak word” vir aangesteldes, hulle bedank en “ons kry wat ons wil h\u00ea”, wat volgens kritici van die amptenaar se rassisme spreek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nou eis opposisiepartye en lede van die publiek dat die DA, die regerende party in die plaaslike munisipale raad, onmiddellik moet optree en die gepaste stappe teen die senior amptenaar vir “gewraakte en rassistiese stellings” geneem moet word.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die Suid-Afrikaanse Grondwet (artikel 9) en die Wet op Gelyke Indiensneming (55 van 1998) verbied onbillike diskriminasie, insluitend op grond van ras.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ONDERSOEKE INGESTEL<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Adv. Gert van Niekerk, die Wes-Kaapse VF Plus-ondervoorsitter, s\u00ea sulke uitlatings is nie net onwettig en diskriminerend nie, maar ondermyn dienslewering en professionele standaarde in die munisipaliteit. “Suid-Afrika sit in sy haglike situasie weens die gevolge van regstellende aksie en swart ekonomiese bemagtiging en alles wat daaruit voortspruit, soos kaderontplooiing en grootskaalse korrupsie,” s\u00ea Van Niekerk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die DA het in ‘n verklaring, wat Woensdag 3 September uitgereik is, ges\u00ea die uitlatings wat in die video gemaak word, “indien akkuraat en in konteks gerapporteer”, is direk teenstrydig met die party se waardes en beginsels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Die DA trek ‘n duidelike lyn tussen party en staat. Ons neem nie deel aan kaderontplooiing nie en verwag dat ‘n bekwame, onafhanklike staatsdiens ons beleide sal implementeer waar ons regeer,” lui die verklaring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Daarom verwag ons dat DA-beheerde munisipaliteite hulself sal gedra op ‘n wyse wat ooreenstem met die grondwetlike waardes van regverdigheid en waardigheid, en met DA-beleid. Ons sal met die politieke leierskap van die Stellenbosch-munisipaliteit skakel om die feite van hierdie saak vas te stel en te verseker dat die toepaslike prosesse gevolg word.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘NIE BELEID’<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
In ‘n verklaring wat die Stellenbosch-munisipaliteit intussen teruggetrek het, s\u00ea die munisipaliteit die video is uit konteks geneem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stellenbosch se burgemeerster, Jeremy Fasser, het Dinsdagaand in ‘n kort verklaring bevestig die omstandighede rakende die video sal ondersoek word en gepaste stappe sal gevolglik gedoen word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By navraag het Stuart Grobbelaar, ‘n woordvoerder vir die Stellenbosch-munisipaliteit, ges\u00ea Kannemeyer se uitlatings is nie die amptelike aanstellingsbeleid van die munisipaliteit nie. “Mnr. Kannemeyer was ‘n menslikehulpbron-adviseur wat in Maart 2023 aan die proses deelgeneem het om [raad] te gee oor verskeie aspekte van die keuringsproses, sowel as diensbillikheid soos vereis deur nasionale regeringswetgewing. Hy was nie ‘n puntepaneellid nie. Die kandidaat met die hoogste punte is in werklikheid aangestel en is steeds in daardie pos.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AfriForum meen Kannemeyer se kommentaar kom neer op teistering. Di\u00e9 organisasie s\u00ea hy sal ook ondersoek instel na die voorval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
