U-Turn Homeless Ministries het ‘n aansoek aan die munisipaliteit gerig om ‘n deel van Erf 235, langs die dorp se taxistaanplek en die Bergzicht-oplei\u00addingsentrum, te huur om dienste bedags aan hawelose mense beskikbaar te stel. Die dienste sal in ‘n bus gehuisves wees \u2013 met toilet- en stortgeriewe \u2013 wat met die hulp van Nina Manzi, ‘n mobiele sanitasiefasiliteit, beskikbaar gestel sal word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volgens U-Turn se aansoek is hul plan om daagliks dienste aan tot 80 individue te verskaf deur hulle toegang tot kos, klere en ablusiegeriewe te gee. Besoekers sal ‘n koepon gebruik in ruil vir die dienste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mense wat van die fasiliteit gebruik maak, sal ook toegang h\u00ea tot berading en sal na ander nodige dienste verwys kan word.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Di\u00e9 organisasie sonder winsbejag bied reeds vir byna drie dekades hulp aan haweloses. Benewens die organisasie se planne om ‘n U-Turn-diensbus op die perseel staan te maak, verlang die organisasie ook ruimte vir berading en stoorplek, asook ‘n tent vir ‘n verskeidenheid aktiwiteite. N\u00e1 fase 1 hoop U-Turn om hul dagdienste na sewe dae per week uit te brei en ook nood-verblyf te bied. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
