Die Wes-Kaapse departement van omgewingsake en ontwikkelingsbeplanning, in vennootskap met die departement van infrastruktuur, het die tweede ronde van behuisingsmarkstudies in sewe munisipaliteite, insluitend Stellenbosch, suksesvol voltooi.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Hierdie inisiatief is deel van die Wes-Kaapse regering se voortgesette pogings om sy begrip van die plaaslike behuisingsmarkdinamika in die Wes-Kaap te verdiep, met die doel om goedgele\u00eb- bekostigbare behuisingsgeleenthede te bevorder en die ontwikkeling van munisipale inklusiewe behuisingsbeleide te ondersteun \u2013 waar toepaslik,” s\u00ea Anton Bredell, die Wes-Kaapse minister van plaaslike regering, omgewingsake en ontwikkelingsbeplanning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Benewens Stellenbosch was die Drakenstein-, George- en Mosselbaai-munisipaliteite deel van die eerste studie. Die jongste fase het die munisipaliteite van die Swartland, Saldanhabaai, die Overstrand, Breedevallei, Bitou, Knysna en Oudtshoorn ingesluit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die Stellenbosch-munisipaliteit het met die inligting wat uit die studie verkry is, sy insluitende soneringsbeleid ontwikkel en in geteikende gebiede begin toepas met die doel om die aanbod van bekostigbare, goedgele\u00eb- bekostigbare behuisingsgeleenthede te verhoog.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘n Woning is vir talle voortnemende huiseienaars onbekostigbaar, wat kan lei tot beperkte toegang tot formele behui- sing, veral vir laeinkomstehuishoudings, s\u00ea die departement. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volgens die departement gebeur dit dat die vraag vir behuising die aanbod oorskry \u2013 juis weens die onbekostigbaarheid vir baie kopers. Dit is veral op intreevlak (tot R300\u2009000) wat voortnemende kopers sukkel om behuising in hul prysklas te vind.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Hierdie studies is deurslaggewend om ons die intelligensie te gee om slimmer te bel\u00ea, beter te beplan en meer doeltreffend saam te werk om bekostigbare behuising te lewer waar dit die nodigste is,” s\u00ea Tertuis Simmers, die Wes-Kaapse minister van infrastruktuur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Die behuisingskrisis gaan nie net oor syfers nie \u2013 dit gaan oor toegang, ligging en waardigheid. Hierdie data help ons om op maniere te reageer wat prakties, geteikend en inklusief is.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
