Stellenbosch University (SU) officially welcomed Lesetja Kganyago, Governor of the South African Reserve Bank, as he was installed at chancellor of the university on Friday 20 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kganyago officially took the position this past January, but now has his official robes which were handed over to him by Dr Nicky Newton-King, chairperson of the SU Council, with the help of SU registrar Dr Ronel Retief. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was with resounding applause and joyous song from Kganyago’s family, friends and colleagues that he delivered his inaugural address at the Endler Hall at the SU Konservatorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kganyago was unanimously elected to the office on Friday 24 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
