{"id":95478,"date":"2025-03-27T13:48:25","date_gmt":"2025-03-27T11:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/districtmailhelderberg\/?p=95478"},"modified":"2025-03-27T13:48:48","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T11:48:48","slug":"disruptions-on-somerset-west-roads-imminent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/districtmailhelderberg\/disruptions-on-somerset-west-roads-imminent\/","title":{"rendered":"Disruptions on Somerset West roads imminent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Motorists in Somerset West are advised to brace themselves for traffic disruptions as the City of Cape Town&#8217;s Urban Mobility \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directorate started a comprehensive, two-month road-resurfacing project from Wednesday 12 March.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The extensive project, scheduled to run until Friday 30 May, will see a significant number of roads undergo vital maintenance. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work will take place between 07:00 and 17:00 on weekdays, weather-permitting and barring any unforeseen delays.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rob Quintas, Mayoral Committee member for Urban Mobility, emphasised the importance of the project. &#8220;I would like to thank the road users and the Somerset West community for their patience and understanding while we are busy on this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Regular road maintenance is required to ensure the longevity of the city&#8217;s road network and to keep Cape Town moving. Motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternative routes whenever possible to mitigate potential delays.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-base-5-color\">The City urges all road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic-management measures in place during the construction period.
