The south-westerly winds presented ideal conditions for sailing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per tradition, the fleet passed the GBYC commodore Jana Loubser, who was aboard the anchored catamaran <i>Synergy<\/i>, and gave three cheers. Afterwards, passing vessels \u201cbaptised\u201d the first-time commodore with buckets of water and water pistols. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day\u2019s sailing was followed by a rock n roll and disco-themed party at the GBYC clubhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next event on the GBYC calendar is a dinghy sailing weekend at Theewater Sports Club this weekend (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 February), which will be held in conjunction with the Sailing Academy GB.
