The City of Cape Town\u2019s Safety and Security Directorate calls on communities to submit nominations for the annual Neighbourhood Watch (NW) Awards, which recognises the hard work and commitment by accredited NW teams and individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards recognise both individual members and organisations across various categories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards categories include:<\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

.<\/span> <\/span>Neighbourhood Watch Member of the Year:<\/strong> celebrating individual excellence in safeguarding community members and property<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/span> Crime Fighter of the Year: <\/strong><\/strong>honouring exceptional service in the fight against crime<\/p>\n\n\n\n

. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Neighbourhood Watch of the Year: <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>recognising organisations that excel in protecting their communities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Organisational Excellence: <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>for excellence in Neighbourhood Watch management<\/p>\n\n\n\n

. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Mobiliser of the Year: <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>for exceptional efforts to mobilise communities in support of safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/span><\/span><\/span>Inspiration of the Year:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> a leader who has displayed inspirational public leadership across several neighbourhood watches in support of community safety and the greater public good<\/p>\n\n\n\n

. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Courage in Action: <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>in recognition of sustained operations in the face of highly compromised community safety, such as drug activity or gang violence<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Situational Crime Prevention Award:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> in recognition of exceptional efforts towards a clean, healthy, and safe environment, in which communities can lead dignified lives <\/p>\n\n\n\n

. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Social Responsibility Award:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>in recognition of a deep commitment to addressing, mitigating, and healing social ills, towards healthier, inclusive, and united communities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only NW members or organisations accredited with the Western Cape Government Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, or those who have formally applied for accreditation, are eligible for nomination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A comprehensive body of evidence must accompany each nomination to support the achievements of the nominee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 23 November. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nomination period runs until 23:59 on Friday 4 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
