Sir Lowry\u2019s Pass Village FC, a community-based football club with a growing reputation, has been making waves in the Helderberg LFA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team is made up of at least two small teams. One was founded in 2019 as a social club under the leadership of Girshwin Pietersen, and mostly played tournaments or weekend games. The other, formerly known as Riverside FC, was coached by Danzel Mc Donald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But last year the two came together and pitched the idea of amalgamate the teams under the banner of Sir Lowry\u2019s Pass FC and evolve into a competitive force on the local football scene by joining the Helderberg Local Football Association league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This process was successful, their having joined the Helderberg LFA in 2023. The club\u2019s decision to participate in the league was a significant step forward, providing its players with the opportunity to compete at a higher level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJoining the Helderberg LFA has been a great experience for our club,\u201d said Pietersen, the team manager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt has given our players the chance to test themselves against some of the best teams in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the guidance of experienced coach Mc Donald, the Sir Lowry\u2019s Pass Village FC squad has shown impressive growth and development. The team\u2019s performances on the field have been promising, and they are currently in contention for promotion to the Super League in the upcoming season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have a very talented squad,\u201d Mc Donald said. \u201cWe\u2019re still working on building the club and its structure, but we\u2019ve been getting results. We\u2019re confident that we can achieve our goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite their success, Sir Lowry\u2019s Pass Village FC faces several challenges. The club is self-funded and relies on the support of the community to continue its operations. They are in need of more players, volunteers, equipment and resources to ensure the club\u2019s long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe need more people to get involved and help us grow,\u201d Pietersen said. \u201cWe\u2019re always looking for new players and volunteers to join our team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The club\u2019s long-term goal is to join the Tygerberg Football Association, a larger and more competitive league. To achieve this they need to continue developing their players and building a strong foundation for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
