Afterwards, the sailors retired to the clubhouse for fish and chips, courtesy of the club galley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event wasn\u2019t without incident, however. The 37 ft cruiser <i>Libre<\/i> ran hard aground on the reefs near Harbour Island after a motor failure, while the Spirit 28 <i>Gia<\/i> suffered a major rigging failure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GBYC and the skippers involved extended their thanks to the crew of the National Sea Rescue Institute\u2019s Station 9 (Gordon\u2019s Bau), who responded to both emergencies, as well as to power vessel skippers Alan Dawson (<i>Edelweiss<\/i>) and Gys Liebenberg (<i>Old Brown<\/i>) who rendered immediate assistance.
