When Covid-19 struck early 2020, a Somerset West resident came up with the perfect combination to create her own chocolate bombs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nicole Kockott, who resides in Dennegeur, never imagined a chocolate-bomb craze would erupt and her creations would form part of a popular wine pairing combo at a popular wine estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A chocolate bomb is a hollow chocolate sphere that contains a mix of dry hot chocolate and marshmallows. This is then placed into a mug and when you pour hot milk over the bomb, it melts and turns into a cup of hot chocolate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After hours of testing, tasting and making sure she was happy with the flavours of the chocolate bombs, the 34-year-old opened her business on 30 June 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soon after, Durbanville Wines came on board and sales of the decadent treat started with a bang, as almost everyone wanted to try out the delicious masterpieces by Chocolate Bomb Delight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy chocolate bombs are something unique and different, which appeals to all ages,\u201d Kockott pointed out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCurrently we have milk chocolate and dark chocolate bombs, and they are mixed into different flavours such as hazelnut coffee, Nutella and one of the favourites the Bar One Milo bomb.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Athough she currently offers customised coffee mugs to go as a combo with the chocolate bombs, she is planning to add more to her basket of offerings in future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am planning something big for 2023,\u201d Kockott hinted without spilling the beans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current distribution area is mainly Somerset West and Strand (for now), although she has shipped bigger orders to other parts of the country, including Bela-Bela, Durban and Johannesburg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
