Layusa Oslodien started her teaching career at a very young age at her alma mater, Strand Moslem Primary School in 1982.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She obtained her primary education at Strand Moslem Primary and CR Rhoda Methodist Primary, after which she attended Gordon High where completed Grade 10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1979, Oslodien attended the Wesley Training College in Salt River for a three-year course and successfully obtained a Junior Primary Teaching Certificate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She further improved her academic qualification by matriculating as a part-time student in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2010, Oslodien improved her professional qualification by obtaining a National Professional Diploma in Education at the University of the Western Cape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout her teaching career she taught the Grade 3s of Strand Moslem Primary. In 2014, she was appointed head of department. In recent times Oslodien loyally served as a member of the school management team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of her extra-mural activities she was in charge of one of the netball teams, and in recent times she also managed the mini-cricket and mini-rugby events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Serving under five principals, Oslodien holds the distinction of being the first educator to serve the same school for 41 continuous years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She married Sameeg Oslodien in 1994 and together they have two children, Imtiyaaz and Siddeeqah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
