Police detectives in Lwandle are on the hunt for seven suspected robbers who targeted a Boxer Superstore in Lwandle last Saturday (3 June). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Sergeant Mthokozisi Gama, spokesperson for Lwandle police, the alleged robbery occurred around 09:00 on Saturday when the armed suspects pounced on the store which is located at Somerset Crossing shopping centre along the N2 highway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSeven suspects entered the store and one of them pointed a firearm at the two security guards stationed at the entrance of the shop,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSome of the suspects forced the guards to take them to the on-duty manager. Other suspects gathered 10 of the employees inside the shop and forced them all to go into the manager\u2019s office.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects asked the employees to hand over their cellphones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe suspects left the office and took an undisclosed amount of money from the tills and a couple of cartons of cigarettes before fleeing the scene,\u201d Gama related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
