Hierdie woorde is volgens \u2019n emosiebelaaide Petrus de Beer wat hy aan sy geliefde suster sou s\u00ea as hy nou langs haar hospitaalbed kon sit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Di\u00e9 66-jarige Gordonsbaaise inwoner was wel aan sy suster se sy toe die voertuig waarin hulle Donderdagaand (12 Oktober) gesit en kuier het, by die sleephelling by die Gordonsbaai-boot-en-hengelklub in Harbour Island afgery en gesink het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Beer was ten tyde die voorval agter die stuurwiel en een van twee manlike insittendes wat daarin geslaag het om uit die sinkende enkelkajuitbakkie te ontsnap en van \u2019n waterdood weg te swem. Sy jonger suster, Wilna de Beer (65) was in die passasiersitplek vasgekeer en is later danksy reddingspogings van owerhede en bystanders wat kragte saamgespan het, uit die voertuig gered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is steeds onbekend hoe die Opel-bakkie in die water beland het en De Beer beskryf die gebeurtenis as \u201ceienaardig\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDis asof iets my ingetrek het,\u201d vertel hy. \u201cMoenie die deure oopmaak nie; maak oop die ruite en swem!\u201d het hy geskree toe die bakkie die water tref en hy besef het hier is moeilikheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Op \u2019n vraag wat daardie oomblikke deur sy gedagtes gedwaal het, het De Beer ges\u00ea: \u201cEk het net ge-worrie<\/em> oor my sussie! Ek het soos \u2019n mal mens daar rondgeswem en herhaaldelik na haar geroep.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens \u2019n persverklaring van die Nasionale Seereddingsinstituut (NSRI) het Gordonsbaai Sekuriteit (GBSek.) om 20:45 met nuus oor die voorval ingebel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Omstanders het \u2019n gewapendereaksievoertuig van die veiligheidsmaatskappy wat Harbour Island patrolleer het, genader en na die toneel gestuur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NSRI-bemanning is ontbied en twee reddingswemmers het \u2019n omstander bygestaan en al drie mense uit die water gered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie omstander het \u2019n bewustelose vrou uit die voertuig gehaal. Die twee mans is in \u2019n goeie toestand na die wal gebring. GB Med Rescue- en ER24-nooddienspersoneel het kardiopulmon\u00eare resussitasie (KPR) op die vrou toegepas terwyl NSRI-bemanningslede bygestaan het. Haar pols is herwin en sy is kort hierna per ambulans na die hospitaal vervoer,\u201d lui die verklaring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jermaine Carelse, \u2019n woordvoerder vir die Stad Kaapstad se brandweer-en-reddingsdienste, het bevestig brandweerpersoneel het kort voor 21:00 op \u2019n noodoproep reageer. \u2019n Brandweerwa en reddingsvoertuig van die Strand-brandweerstasie het vinnig op die voorval gereageer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abulele Dyasi, kommunikasiebeampte van die provinsiale departement van gesondheid, s\u00ea \u2019n pasi\u00ebnt wat by hierdie beskrywing pas, is Donderdagaand in die Helderberg-hospitaal opgeneem. \u201cSy was in \u2019n kritieke toestand en is na die Tygerberg-hospitaal oorgeplaas,\u201d het Dyasi ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Beer het met besoek aan sy tuiste Maandagmiddag (16 Oktober) ges\u00ea sy suster veg steeds om haar lewe. \u201cDit gaan nie goed nie. Sy is steeds in die waakeenheid en dit blyk haar niere begin oppak. Ons bly bid.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens De Beer is hy vroeg Donderdagmiddag van sy huis in Mansfield af weg om sy suster in Grabouw te gaan haal. Hulle het later by Harbour Island stilgehou, waar hulle en \u2019n huismaat drankies geniet het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEk weet ek moenie worrie nie, want God weet alles en Hy sal haar deurdra,\u201d het De Beer in trane ges\u00ea. \u201cSy is so lief vir my. Sy maak staat op my.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens \u2019n polisiewoordvoerder is \u2019n voorlopige verslag n\u00e1 die voorval en reddingsaksie saamgestel. Beeldmateriaal van die voorval is verkry en wys hoe die voertuig stadig vorentoe beweeg, stop, en dan weer vorentoe beweeg voordat dit n\u00e1 \u2019n mislukte poging om agteruit te beweeg, uiteindelik die water tref. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die voertuig is vroeg die volgende oggend (Vrydag) deur die En Route-insleepdiens uit die water gehaal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die NSRI het sy dankbaarheid uitgespreek aan die volgende nooddienste wat op die toneel bystand gebied het: GBSek. en GB Med Rescue, ER24, die plaaslike polisie, brandweer-en-reddingsdienste, Gordonsbaai-buurtwag, verkeer, Netcare 911 en Metro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
