Critical electricity maintenance to a substation in the Helderberg will result in an interruption to electricity in parts of the area on Saturday 8 June and Saturday 15 June from 06:00 to 20:00, depending on weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result of the complex nature of the infrastructure work, supply will be interrupted and the time of restoration may be delayed by a few hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur teams will work as quickly as possible to complete all upgrades within the 06:00 to 20:00 communicated time,\u201d the City of Cape Town said in a statement. \u201cSome news channels could imply this work affects all areas in the city; this is not true. It will be carried out in the Helderberg only.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The affected areas will be: Triangle industrial area; Helderberg Village; Remhoogte; Jonkershoogte, Heldervue; Steenbras View; Helena Heights; Greenway Rise; Goede Hoop; and Dorhill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents are advised that the electricity supply could be restored at any time, and customers must treat all electrical installations as live for the duration of the interruption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Residents are encouraged to switch off all appliances as a precaution and avoid damage caused by surges when the electricity is reconnected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
