Sunflowers have become associated with people and organisations that support blood cancer patients. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vergelegen marketing manager Caroline van Schalkwyk said the contribution is the second donation to DKMS Africa, and is part of the estate\u2019s commitment to making a positive impact on the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur annual sunflower planting represents hope and renewal, which aligns perfectly with the DKMS Africa mission to fight blood cancer and support those affected by it,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DKMS Africa head of community engagement and communications Palesa Mokomele expressed their immense gratitude for the support from Vergelegen estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSuch contributions are vital in helping us continue our work and to bring hope to those battling blood cancer and blood disorders,\u201d stated senior fundraising manager Tlatsetso Palime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Van Schalkwyk the sunflowers at Vergelegen are now past their prime, but the estate plans to maintain its close ties with the organisation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span>To find out more about DKMS Africa and its work, visit https:\/\/www.dkms-africa.org\/.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vergelegen is open to visitors between 08:30 and 17:00 (last entry 16:00) daily. The entrance fee is R20 perperson, or R10 for pensioners and scholars. Pensioners enjoy free entry on Mondays.
