Two people died and two others, including a teenager, were wounded in a shooting in Pholile informal settlement, Lwandle on Sunday (27 July).\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the police report, the incident occurred at 21:39, when Lwandle police officers responded to a shooting in area.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On their arrival, officers found the body of a 41-year-old man, with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, lying in a pool of blood. The officers also found three cartridges and one projectile next to the body.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further investigation of the scene led police to three other victims, who were transported to a nearby medical facility for medical treatment.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One, a 33-year-old man shot in the upper body, died on arrival while the other two, a 15-year-old boy shot in the left leg and a 38-year-old man shot in the torso, received treatment.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The motive for the shootings is still under investigation, while police are also investigationg whether the incident may be a professional hit. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lwandle police opened a double-murder and double-attempted-murder case docket, which were being investigated by Lwandle detectives. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No arrests had been made at the time of publication. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
