Die omgeegemeente van die NG kerk in Somerset-Wes het Saterdag (24 Mei) ‘n herfsmark gehou om geld vir algemene instandhouding in te samel. Die mark is in die kerk se saal by Andries Pretoriusstraat 77 gehou, waar tuisgemaakte kos, handgemaakte snuisterye en soetgoed te koop was. Volgens ds. Johan van Niekerk is die mark meer as net ‘n manier om geld in te samel \u2014 dit is ‘n geleentheid waar die gemeente saamkom en saam kan brood breek. Hy s\u00ea wanneer mense saam eet, heers ‘n atmosfeer van lag, maar belangriker nog, wys dit dat hulle vir mekaar omgee.
