Motorists planning to travel along Clarence Drive (R44) between Gordons Bay and Rooi Els should brace for significant traffic disruptions in the coming weeks due to emergency flood damage repairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Western Cape Government has announced that essential work will necessitate both lane closures and a full road closure during selected days to ensure the safe passage of traffic during the construction period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The repairs will involve the installation of stormwater infrastructure, as well as the resurfacing of the parking areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the official notice, lane closures will be in effect during daytime hours from Monday 5 to Thursday 22 May. A full road closure is scheduled for a week, from Thursday 8 to Thursday 15 May, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. During the full closure, the road will be shut daily between 09:00 and 16:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To manage traffic flow during these periods, a stop\/go system will be implemented. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and patience while navigating the construction zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Western Cape Government appealed to the public to “drive carefully during this period of construction.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
