Learners and staff of Somerset College gathered for the dedication of the school’s new sport field, named after Myles and Marion Siebrits on Friday 16 August. The Siebrits couple, past staff members and parents of the school, are valued members of the Somerset College community and were the guests of honour at the dedication ceremony. Patrick Cordery, chaplain of College, conducted the dedication service and was assisted by Grade 12 learner Victoria Brakhoff and her little brother Ferris (Grade 2) with the Bible readings. Marion Siebrits cut the ribbon under the new scoreboard, after Myles Siebrits addressed those in attendance. Somerset College will now have the privilege of making good use of the Siebrits Field for their sport programmes. At the official dedication (from left) are Hein Matthee (business manager), Myles and Marion Siebrits, and executive head Graham Sayer.
