During the first week of the fourth academic term, Curro Create broadcasted its online award ceremony for the Curro Create National Youth Theatre Festival, where all the results for the #Straight2Camera Monologue Festival and Play Festival were announced. The main prize of the ceremony was a R50 000 creative arts scholarship being awarded to a Grade 12 learner who has demonstrated the most talent and service to the Curro Create initiative over the last few years. This year, going against tradition, two Curro Somerset West learners, Phoebe Mgxaji (right) and Wanda Jacobs were awarded the scholarship. Phoebe was also awarded the prize for best actress in the One Act Play Festival and crowned runner-up in the #Straight2Camera Festival for Grade 11 and 12 learners.
