Cape Town police believe a body found on Table Mountain is that of 46-year-old man who went missing while hiking alone on Wednesday (16 September).
Wayne Barnard was last in contact at 11:05 on Wednesday, when he shared his location and a photograph from Table Mountain.
His phone was later switched off, and a missing-person case was registered at Cape Town Central later that day.
Police and Wilderness Search and Rescue teams were activated to search for him.

Cpt FC Van Wyk, provincial police spokesperson, said a body was found at around 12:00 today.
โThe body of an adult male was found on Table Mountain by members of police and Wilderness Search and Rescue Teams.โ
Van Wyk said a formal identification, by family is in progress.
An inquest has been registered, while a postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
