Cyril Ramaphosa Maandag bevestig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ramaphosa het tydens \u2019n ANC-middagete met redakteurs in Sandton gepraat ter herdenking van Swart Woensdag. Op di\u00e9 dag, 19 Oktober, in 1977 het die apartheidsregering onder meer <em>The World<\/em> en <em>Weekend World <\/em>verbied en joernaliste, waaronder Percy Qoboza, destydse redakteur van <em>The World<\/em>, aangehou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ramaphosa is gister gevra oor Mantashe se onlangse uitlatings teenoor \u2019n vroulike joernalis en sy optrede teenoor \u2019n vroulike ANC-vrywilliger, asook sy gedrag by \u2019n Cosatu-kongres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEk is nie iemand wat individue in die openbaar bespreek nie, maar die kwessies wat jy oor die voorsitter uitlig is kwessies wat tans in proses is om in die organisasie [ANC] bespreek te word,\u201d het Ramaphosa ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mantashe het kritiek ontlok nadat hy tydens \u2019n ANC-veldtog in Noordwes kras gereageer het op \u2019n vraag van \u2019n joernalis oor bewerings dat \u2019n munisipale raadslid seksuele gunste van vroue in ruil vir werk ge\u00ebis het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hy het die ANC van die beweerde optrede probeer distansieer en aangevoer dat sulke gedrag aan individue toegeskryf moet word, eerder as aan die party. In sy antwoord het hy \u2019n verwysing na vroue se geslagsdele gemaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDie vroueliga het uitgekom, en \u2019n aantal ANC-leiers, sowel as [ander] leiers. So dis \u2019n saak wat ons sal bespreek,\u201d het Ramaphosa ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die ANC-vroueliga het Sondag in \u2019n verklaring ge\u00ebis dat Mantashe die joernalis en die publiek om verskoning vra. Foto: Argief.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-burgemeesterskandidate\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Burgemeesterskandidate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2019n Joernalis het Ramaphosa gekonfronteer oor die ANC se besluit om nie voor die munisipale verkiesing sy burgemeesterskandidate aan te wys nie, omdat dit openbare debatte en die media se pogings om moontlike burgemeesters oor dienslewering aanspreeklik te hou, bemoeilik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ramaphosa het die besluit verdedig: \u201cOns het besluit wat ons in die verlede gedoen het, het goed gewerk . . . (om) eers n\u00e1 die verkiesing (te) besluit wie ons as burgemeester gaan aanwys . . . Dit verskil van wat ander partye doen, maar ons hou by die werkwyse wat ons nog altyd gevolg het.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die party het reeds moontlike kandidate ondervra, en joernaliste kan almal op die kortlys ondervra, het Ramaphosa ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die ANC het aanvanklik beplan om sy kandidate bekend te maak, maar di\u00e9 besluit is skielik omgekeer. Daily Maverick het berig die ANC se nasionale uitvoerende komitee was bekommerd dat die bekendmaking van sy voorkeure weerstand onder ondersteuners van onsuksesvolle kandidate sou ontlok en die party se verkiesingsveldtog kon benadeel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Die Papier<\/em> het Mantashe om kommentaar genader.
