Langa police officers are investigating a case of murder after a taxi owner was gunned down at the Langa Taxi rank on Tuesday 8 February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The motive behind the killing remains a mystery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, spokesperson for the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) Mandla Hermanus said the organisation is devastated by the incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are shocked to hear of a shooting incident at the Langa Taxi rank. We condemn the killing and we urge law enforcement to do everything in their power to arrest the perpetrators,\u201d said Hermanus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He refused to comment further, saying the organisation did not have enough information regarding the incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe CATA leadership is away and as such we don\u2019t have information on the circumstances surrounding the incident,\u201d said Hermanus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Langa Police Station spokesperson Capt Nondumiso Paul said the deceased was shot in the head twice and died on the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwo cartridges were found at the scene. The deceased was found with the firearm in his possession,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
