It was smiles galore for over 1 000 learners at Mkhanyiseli Primary School in Nyanga when they were served with a nice meal on Wednesday 15 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They were also read some inspiring stories, thanks to a partnership between Coronation Fund Managers, food aid organisation Ladles of Love and non profit organisation (NPO) Living Through Learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coronation, in partnership with Ladles of Love provided and served food to the 1 050 learners, while Living Through Learning facilitated the read. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coronation Chief Financial Officer and CSI Committee chair Mary-Anne Musekiwa and her colleagues read for the children empowering their minds at the school\u2019s Reading Adventure Room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This colourful room was sponsored by Coronation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is a special space to encourage a love of reading, as part of the company\u2019s long-term commitment to boost vital foundation phase literacy in under-resourced schools around the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wendy Bergsteedt, Group Head of Marketing at Coronation Fund Managers, said the strong correlation between childhood hunger and stunted education outcomes is why they make it their mission to tackle both childhood food insecurity and learning outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis Youth Day we\u2019ve teamed up with Ladles of Love and our literacy partner Living Through Learning to bring this meaningful initiative to over 1 000 learners at Mkanyiseli Primary school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
