Veteran politician and current Ward 38 councillor Thembisile Gladstone Ntamo has died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He passed away in hospital yesterday morning (Thursday 18 August).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ntamo served three terms as a councillor between 1996 and 2011 before being replaced by Khaya Yozi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He returned to the position after the previous local government elections last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Family spokesperson Akhona Jonginamba said Ntamo died at the Rondebosch Medical Centre at 02:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI received a call past 03:00 from his doctor informing me that he is no more,\u201d he said, adding that the doctor cited cardiac arrest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Jonginamba, Ntamo had been ill for a while. His condition deteriorated in 2020 following the passing of his father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
