The other two people were inside the car. I\u2019m not sure where exactly they were shot because I was standing at a distance,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mzondi stated that mass shootings became a norm in Gugulethu. He urged the police to pull up their socks and to be visible in the community. \u201cI don\u2019t think it was a robbery. And I believe this incident is connected with the one that occurred in NY112. But I don\u2019t want to speculate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Provincial police spokesperson Brig Novela Potelwa said Gugulethu police have opened a triple murder docket for investigation after three men between the ages of 28 and 30 were shot and killed on Sunday evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReports from the scene indicate the vehicle in which the deceased persons were travelling in had just entered NY6 at approximately 17:50 when it came under fire from unknown gunmen who later fled in another vehicle. Numerous shots were fired at the vehicle wounding all occupants,\u201d said Potelwa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two people died on the scene while a third died later in hospital, she confirmed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Potelwa stated that the motive is yet to be determined. Provincial detectives are pursuing several leads, she added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
