The comes after a body of a woman was found in a shack at DT section in Taiwan informal settlement on Monday 24 April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The body reportedly had a stab wound on the legs, just above the knees. She also had scratch marks on the neck<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The killing followed a series of incidents that happened in Ward 87 in recent weeks. These include an alleged rape of women in the church and the killing of Thimna Kuze. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Taiwan resident, who named himself Zizi, for fear of victimisation, said crime is becoming a norm in the, particularly Taiwan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called on the government to deploy additional police. \u201cI don\u2019t know what is happening in Taiwan. A woman was found dead in her boyfriend\u2019s shack. She was stabbed several times and was locked inside the shack,\u201d said Zizi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that no one is safe and the area requires a strong intervention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis area needs soldiers to patrol every day. I think there are three incidents of crime, including a rape incident that occurred in Taiwan. We don\u2019t need prayer anymore. If somebody kills or rapes, he must be killed by the community. That\u2019s the only thing that can help us because the police are failing us,\u201d said Zizi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ward 87 councillor Khayalethu Kama confirmed the incident and cited that the perpetrator was on the run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAccording to the deceased\u2019s family, she was stabbed on both thighs just above the knees and she had scratch marks on the neck. Then the man left her lying down and locked the shack and left the key next door,\u201d said Kama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the perpetrator met his neighbour at Site C taxi rank carrying a bag with clothes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey said his neighbour greeted him as usual and had a little chat, but while they were talking, the neighbour noticed blood stains on the suspect\u2019s clothes. They said when the neighbour asked the suspect about the blood stains, he sobbed and walked away,\u201d explained Kama, adding that the neighbour left confused and phoned other neighbours in the area and told them about what happened. He reportedly asked them to check the suspect\u2019s shack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The councillor said the culprit locked the deceased inside his shack and left the key with one of his neighbours. He said when neighbours heard about the news they opened the shack to discover the body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kama cited dense and dark areas as reasons patrollers and officers could not go to Taiwan at night. He called for the upgrade of the area to make it easily accessible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khayelitsha Police Station spokesperson Const Asanda Dawethi said a murder case was opened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPolice received a complaint in Taiwan, and on arrival, they found a female body in her boyfriend\u2019s house lying in bed with an open stab wound on her right thigh with no sign of life. And she was declared dead by ambulance services,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
