This after a woman was fatally stabbed in Sithunzi Street on Monday 23 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lwandle police spokesperson Sgt Mthokozisi Gama said a murder case had been opened. He said officers were called to the scene and on their arrival they found a 46-year-old woman with a stab wound to the neck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPolice detectives\u2019 investigation led them to bring her 16-year-old son in for questioning,\u201d Gama said. \u201cHe has remained in custody while all the circumstances surrounding the case were under investigation. As part of this, a forensic pathologist was brought in to examine the body of the deceased. A potential weapon was found at the crime scene and confiscated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The juvenile appeared in the Strand Magistrates\u2019 Court yesterday (25 October). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of harassment, described the incident as gruesome. She said the deceased had multiple stabbed wounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLwandle has changed now. \u201cPeople are dying every day. I suspect the incident occurred at night because her body was discovered in the morning. There were blood stains inside the house as if she was fighting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman said Lwandle had become dangerous, with many serious crime incidents. She said killings and car hijackings were also on the rise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy cousin was hijacked near the taxi rank coming from work at night. Fortunately, her car had a tracking device.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
