Langa Safety Patrol (LSP) members will soon have a designated spot to run their operations, thanks to Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and Mayco member for safety and security JP Smith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year, the pair donated a shipping container to the LSP to boost their fight against crime and encourage members to continue doing the great job that they are doing for the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the container has not been used because it had no electricity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After months of being on display at Johnson Ngwevela Hall, the facility is officially opening today (28 March). It has since been fitted with wifi and electricity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
LSP chair Bandile Gcuwa praised different role-players for coming to the fore in ensuring the container served its purpose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs of today (28 March), we expect everything to be up and running. Our office will now be fully operational,\u201d said Gcuwa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He expressed his gratitude to all the people who contributed, citing that their contribution would make their job easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gcuwa said it was not only a relief to them but to the entire community. He said people would know where to find them in times of need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur office will be open from 08:00 to 16:00 daily. Patrollers at night will gather nearAstron Energy Garage in Langa before they disperse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
