In a tough u-18 league match played at Mandela Park Stadium in Khayelitsha, under Mandela Park Local Football Association, on Sunday 26 May, the Mobz Academy FC walked away with three points after defeating Baymont FC with a solitary goal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The goal was scored in the first stanza, with the strikers missing an avalanche of chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mobz coach Malwande Fiyo cautiously welcomed the three points, saying the game should have been wrapped up early in the first half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe game ended up with one goal. We created a lot of opportunities but we missed them. I don\u2019t panic a lot because the team is in the building phase,\u201d said Fiyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said his aim is to groom the youngsters to be ready for the challenge. He said half of the u-18 team was promoted to play in the senior team early this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor now, I think I need to focus more on the striking force. Our target man, that we were playing with, is still young, 16 years. I still need to develop him as a striker. Even in the midfield I had a 14-year-old player. That is why I\u2019m saying that the team is in the building phase,\u201d he explained, adding that he was happy with the overall performance of the team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
