Someone must be held accountable for whatever is happening in our communities, particularly when it comes to violence and crime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As young parents, we also need to shoulder the blame. We have failed dismally to pass some of the values and teachings we got from our parents to our children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our parents were good at raising us. They successfully implemented simple things, such as praying before we eat or go to bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In those days, you would never miss time to go home. We knew that we needed to be home before supper was dished out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prayer was the vital part of our lives. We prayed every night without fail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prayer is one of the things that we lost and it has an impact on everything that\u2019s happening in our communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do you think that if we had passed all the values and teachings that we learnt from our parents, crime would be at the rate it is now? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most families in the olden days were taught to pray. My mother would pray until we fell asleep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We put prayer before everything. That did not mean we abandoned our customs. However, we always knew that God was the creator of everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, we have deserted everything and nothing is right. We are so focussed on nice life and money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We betrayed the teachings of our parents. Our parents taught us that everything has its time. You don\u2019t have to rush to get everything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think we need to go back to the ancient times and practice what our grandparents and parents taught us. Coming home on time is very important and having time with your family is crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It seems many people are happier when they are outside than in their houses. Why is it so difficult to pass the teachings from our parents to our children?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
